Empire Brew - A DO!

Check Out Empire Brewing Co. just do it, don't ask questions....

I will admit, it's been a long while since Tony and I have been to "downtown" Syracuse, but after an unexpected turn in our date night plans, we ended up at Empire Brewing Co. for dinner and a beer...or two.

After sitting down in a trendy, underground bar/restaurant I immediately ordered a White Aphro, a delicious summer Belgian Wit ale made with lemon, ginger, and lavender. It was refreshing, clean, and crisp.

But it wasn't until I noticed a waitress bring out a tray of mini beers to another table-which immediately caught my attention. I squealed with delight when I noticed this little beauty from across the bar....

....an Empire Brewing Co. sampler. The best of the bunch was a seasonal beer called DEEP PURPLE. It was cute, and purple, and delicious! This little sweetheart is a wheat beer made with NYS concord grapes. It is fruity, tart & dry with a purple color and a huge grape aroma....it was love at first taste!

So if you're looking for a change, or a new low key hangout to relax at (for those of you who loved Clark's Ale House will love this place) check out Empire Brew Co.

Take a swig...I dare you!

You gotta start somewhere....

This is a blog about life, love, family, and most importantly......food.

Although this blog is a work in progress, and it will probably change one hundred times before I get it "right", it's my place to share what goes on in my crazy day-to-day life as a mom, wife, daughter, teacher, and friend.

So, here we go...I gotta start somewhere...right?

Recipe: Fried Summer Squash

Ingredients
-Two yellow "summer" squash
-Slice into thin disc like slices
-Buy Bisquick's Shake and Pour
-Add 1 1/2 cups of water to Bisquick-shake well
-Pour in large bowl
-Dip each slice in bowl until covered
-Fry in a pan using veggie oil until golden brown on both sides
-To finish place on paper towels to absorb extra oil, and add salt.

Enjoy!
