It's amazing how fast a year goes by...well not really a year, but an entire school year....and this year was no different. McKenzie made significant gains in her reading and math skills....and made some amazing friends and learned how quick a friend can turn on you. We conquered a lot of first this year,....our first bully, our first kid birthday party, first awards for reading and helping others, first bus ride alone, first report card, and first time being away from us for an entire day. Some days were harder than others, ending in unanticipated naps on the bus, or meltdowns the minute we walked through the door,....she maintained her manners and kindness at school, and stuck up for others when they couldn't,...but the one thing we noticed the most is how much she has grown up in the past year. She no longer fits in her size 12 shoes, or her size 5/6 pants. She's clearly outgrown last years winter jacket, and little girl cartoon undies that she once loved so much. She's our big, bad first grader now!

We are so incredibly proud of you Kenz! We can't wait to see what this year will bring!
